Using Your Library: Library Services

Learn more about all the the library has to offer: library cards, electronic resources, programs, computer use, building use and more. Also learn how to support your library as a volunteer or through the Friends, Foundation or Library Board.

Using Your Library

The Springfield Public Library is open. Come visit us! No appointments are needed. Our current hours are:

  • Mondays, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Tuesdays, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Fridays, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Sundays, closed

Our telephones are staffed during our open hours Monday through Saturday. Please call us at 541-726-3766 with any questions about library services.

Computers and Printing

  • Two-hour computer sessions are available with your library card during our open hours

  • Access to library computers, scanner, printer and photo copier.

  • Printing $0.15 per page black and white, with the first 10 pages being free. $0.50 per page color, no free color printing.

  • Print remotely using your device for pick up at the library.

  • Flash Drives and Headphones available for purchase.

Drop-In Tech Help

Patrons can receive in-person assistance with their smart phones, tablets, other personal devices or help with accessing websites and other tech help in general.

Curbside Pick-up

  • Place a hold to reserve library items, either by phone or online (click on ‘My Account’ at the top of the page to get started)

  • Wait to receive an email with a subject line reading "Library Hold Available"

  • Pick-up times are 11am-12pm on Wednesdays, 5-6pm Thursdays and Saturdays from 2-3pm

Returning Materials

  • Return items at our book drops 24/7
  • A drive-up book drop is underneath the library, off A St. between 5th and 6th Streets
  • Our remote, drive-up book drop is in the parking lot of Splash! at Lively Park, 6100 Thurston Road
