What Is a Database and How Do I Use It?

Databases are reliable online sources for information and research. The Springfield Public Library subscribes to a wide variety of database services.

  • You can access them at no cost in the library or at home if you have a library card.
  • Each database service offers its own unique information and has different approaches for searching and use.
  • Usually entering keywords into a search box will get you started.
  • Help menus are always available on the search page.
  • You can print, save, and send information using the on-screen options within each database.
