Food Pantries

Catholic Community Services of Lane County, Inc. (CCS)

Catholic Community Services offices are closed except for food box distribution at 9am Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at both Springfield and Eugene locations.  They will continue to receive requests by phone at 541-345-3628

Food for Lane County

Food for Lane County is continually updating their resource list of where to access food including Drive up or Mobile food distribution.

Free Meals

Produce Plus

The Trillium Produce Plus program provides free fruit and vegetables, and sometimes canned food (from Food for Lane County) for members of the community to take home.

Housing

Oregon Homeownership Stabilization Initiative (OHSI):

Helps Oregonians who have gotten behind on their mortgage or property tax payments because of a change in their financial situation. They also offer support for people who are living on a fixed income or received a default notice on a reverse mortgage.

Carry It Forward

Carry it Forward Lane County: Helps those experiencing homelessness with basic needs and laundry.  

Eugene Mission

The Eugene Mission serves men, women and children who find themselves homeless – either temporarily or chronically.  Guests come to us for a variety of reasons including job loss and unemployment, eviction, mental illness, physical difficulties, domestic violence, prison release, and addiction to drugs and alcohol. 541-344-3251

St. Vincent de Paul: Dusk to Dawn

Run by St Vincent de Paul, is a low barrier shelter for adults in multi-person heated, military-style tents. Entry is coordinated through the Eugene Service Station at 450 Highway 99 N, Eugene.

Sheltercare

Offers a range of housing and support services for individuals and families who are homeless, or on the verge of homelessness, with a committed focus on individuals living with mental illness. 

White Bird Clinic 

  • White Bird is operating as a distribution site for people experiencing homelessness. Unhoused individuals can access resources, pick-up supplies, and learn about COVID-19 prevention and symptoms. The White Bird distribution site will also serve as a check-in point to access spaces in designated temporary shelter sites in Eugene. In order to get an assigned space at the shelter sites, individuals need to check-in at the distribution site first and receive a basic medical screening.
  • Landlords and property managers may work with CAHOOTS to stabilize a renter who may be in crisis. CAHOOTS may be able to help provide mediation to help keep your tenant housed. CAHOOTS offers a broad range of services, including but not limited to: crisis counseling, conflict resolution, mediation, housing, first aid, resource referrals.

Overnight and Safe Parking Programs

Operated by St Vincent de Paul, provide safe, legal places to park a vehicle or camper overnight. Spots are accessed by waitlist through the Eugene Service Station at 450 Highway 99 N, Eugene.

Community Supported Shelters

Safe Spots, (aka Rest Stops), and microsites provide shelter in Conestoga huts. Contact CSS at 541-683-0836 for more information. There are 87 new spots coming online in 2021.

SquareOneVillages

SquareOne Villages will be operating two new microsites in addition to their ongoing village projects with the use of Pallet Shelters and Conestoga huts. Call 541-606-4455, or apply at Opportunity Village, 111 N Garfield, Eugene. Microsites include 12 new spaces.

Nightingale Hosted Shelters

A rest stop with Conestoga huts. Application can be found online, or in person at the Rest Stop at 34th and Hilyard Alley. Call 541-870-5388 to make sure camp manager is available before going in person. 

SNAP Benefits

Department of Human Services

Oregonians who have been laid off or are working reduced work hours may become eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). You can apply or reapply online or call 1-855-626-2050 if you need assistance filling out the application (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). SNAP allows online grocery purchasing from Walmart and Amazon. DHS is keeping local offices open during this pandemic to serve people who do not have access to the Internet. They are doing phone intakes and people can submit any documents that may be needed via email or mail as well.
