2024-04-18 Training: Library Information Services

Notes

Communications Plan implementation

The Communications Plan is the mechanism that manages interactions by identifying key messages that may be exchanged between the key stakeholders that have been identified.

The nature of these stakeholders and the relationships between them provide context for these key messages.

At the highest level stakeholders are identified as either internal (part of the Library Department) or external (everyone else)

The Communications Plan currently recognizes 5 major categories of key messages:

  • Administrative
  • Operational
  • Developmental
  • Marketing
  • User Feedback

Library Information Services, provides access to information about each of the eleven services to the various virtual library interfaces.

All information that is shared between stakeholders is related to one or more of these services.

Note: Not all communication between stakeholders rises to the level of key message.
