Teen Library Volunteers

Make a difference in your community, get work experience, earn volunteer hours for school, and just have fun by volunteering at the library. Volunteers will assist with programs, help keep the library tidy, maintain library materials and so much more. If you are interested in volunteering for 2-3 hours a week, submit the application below and request an interview. Applications are accepted from September through May.

What is the Teen Advisory Board?
Springfield teens in grades 8-12 who assist the Teen Services Librarian.
They create teen programs, recommend books, movies and music for the library collection
and assist with other projects that make the library an inviting destination for teens.

Teen Advisory Board members must be able to meet
on the third Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:30 pm.

The board works together, thinking creatively, expressing ideas thoughtfully
and discussing topics considerately to reach our goals.
